Senior for Senior Foster Program

The PAWS ‘Seniors for Seniors’ program matches people 60 and over in the Creston area with older pets. These matches usually work out well because older pets are trained, calmer, and quieter than younger animals, so they better fit the lifestyle of an older person.

Older adults may not want the commitment of a pet but have the room in both their heart and their home for one. Senior pets can sometimes be harder to adopt because of their age or because they also have special needs, so this is also a win-win for the pet.

The program matches a senior pet with the applicant. PAWS covers the medical expenses and special needs items.

In turn, we ask that:

if the cat is an indoor cat, it always be kept indoors
you let PAWS know how the match is working out
you let PAWS know if the foster pet has any health problems or behavioural concerns
you let PAWS know if you can no longer care for the pet

Peeko
Female. DOB: 5/24/2016. Peeko is a beautiful Tortie girl! This nice cat is affectionate, social, & curious. She really enjoys spending time with her PAWS volunteers accepting pettings & chatting. Peeko loves the outdoors & would appreciate having a safe, outdoor catio at her new home. She will be a loving addition to any family!!

Chilli
Male. DOB: 10/30/2011. Our Chilli is a very handsome Oreo boy. This nice fellow loves his time with his PAWS volunteers accepting lots of pettings & rewarding us with head bumps. Chilli is very social & confident.

This young-at-heart boy is also a Seniors For Seniors cat! With such a happy, positive personality, he will be an awesome companion to any family!

Lilli
Female. DOB: 4/6/2015. Lilli is a lovely Tuxedo girl. She is attentive, smart, and curious. This pretty girl is friendly and enjoys hanging out with her PAWS volunteers. Lilli loves a big window to watch the world from. She enjoys gentle pettings and a good chat. This nice cat would love to find her furever home...we just know that her perfect family is out there! And she is a Seniors for Seniors cat!

Zia
Female. DOB: 4/18/2013. Zia is such a pretty cat! She is curious and attentive, calm and relaxed. This nice girl warms up to her people once she knows them. Zia does require regular brushing to keep her beautiful coat looking its best. Our PAWS volunteers think she is lovely! She is ok with other like minded cats, but Zia would appreciate being the only cat in her new home. Being a senior cat, Zia does have some health issues. Plus, she is eligible for our Seniors for Seniors program!
